![]() Cayuga Bike Trip Day 3 - FinishWe awoke the next morning before noon, loaded up the gear, and rode uphill. The plan was to stop at the first place we saw and get some breakfast. The first town had no restaurants. The second town was a small college town and only had pizza parlors which were just closing from the night before. The third town had a restaurant but it didn't serve breakfast on Sundays. Joe started to whimper. Finally, we found a café serving Sunday brunch. The waitresses were as charming as gym teachers and we didn't have to walk through the kitchen to get to our table. The juice was burnt, the toast was runny and the eggs had just hatched. It was a great breakfast. As we were finishing our meals, Dave spoke up, "I wonder why my feet hurt.""Its all that walking" I replied. The coffee he poured into my lap may have been a little warm at first, but it helped me stay cool once we started riding again. ![]() Ken was still loaded down with all the gear which helped keep angry dogs off the rest of us. Speed and endurance was never his forte.
The ride ended an hour later. We were all worn out but feeling good, athletic and relieved there were no more hills. Only one thing could stop us from rushing home. The tavern was serving cold Guinness on tap. It went down smooth.
